Continuing Education for Advocates

Advocates are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education each year. This requirement can be met by attending workshops or trainings in the community. It can also be met through individual study, which could include: reading an article or book, watching a video or attending a presentation on a pertinent issue. Here are some places to get you started. The last step is to report your training hours to us - if you would like, you can download a copy of the time card.

CASA Monthly Continuing Education:
Third Tuesday of each month
6-8pm at the Family Resource Center
Contact the volunteer coordinator for the latest information.

Training Announcements: For listings of upcoming trainings in the community, check out the CASA web calendar.

CASA Video and Resource Library: In the CASA office we have many articles, books and videos on wide ranging issues that relate to the children we help. Contact the volunteer coordinator - or just drop by to browse.

CASA Web Resources: Web sites can be a starting point to locate articles, books and videos - or you can count time you spend reviewing information on-line - especially articles found on the sites we've linked to here.
